These are the Official Rules of the Monopoly Contest '09
In all cases, these rules and regulations shall apply to the Contest.
1) - The cost of Monopoly is $125.00, with 10% taken for expenses, maintenance, and setup.
*** ALL CONTESTANTS MUST HAVE THEIR MONEY IN BY THE FRIDAY PRIOR TO THE START OF THE NFL SEASON (9/11/09) ***
2) - Each contestant will start with 10,000 points
3) - Each contestant will have to pick at least 4 games per NFL week (no Thursday or Saturday games), and with a maximum of 7 games per week. ** Saturday games will ONLY be used during the 4 weeks of the Monopoly Playoffs (see # 7). **
- The minimum amount per pick is 100 pts. during the regular season; all picks should be in increments of 100. You may wager any or all of your points in a given week, there is no maximum on points. The minimum is 4 picks x 100 points each.
- Once a contestant finishes a week and is below 400 points, that contestant will be officially out, per the minimum.
- If a contestant forgets to call in or submit their picks online, that contestant shall be automatically be deducted 400 pts.
- The Friday Line in the USA Today newspaper will be the OFFICIAL LINE. This Line will also be available on this website after 5:00pm each Friday. DO NOT go to the USA Today website for the Line, ONLY use the Friday USA Today or this site!
- Picks may be phoned in or submitted online starting after 5:00pm on Friday. You are free to use either method.
- ALL PICKS MUST BE PHONED IN BY 11:00AM, OR SUBMITTED ONLINE BY 12:00 NOON EACH SUNDAY DURING THE REGULAR SEASON.

*** PLEASE NOTE ** There is NO GRACE PERIOD when phoning in your picks or submitting them online! ONE MINUTE LATE WILL BE CONSIDERED A NO-CALL OR FAILURE TO SUBMIT YOUR PICKS. BOTH THE VOICEMAIL AND ONLINE SUBMISSIONS ARE TIME-STAMPED AND WILL BE CONSIDERED THE OFFICIAL TIME OF SUBMISSION. PLEASE, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!
- When calling in your picks, please refrain from using cell phones unless absolutely necessary. There have been problems in the past with lost, dropped, or broken signals!
4) - When you call in your picks, please state your Team Name, and then your picks, and the amount bet on each team. Failure to call in at least 4 picks will result in a deduction of 400 points. Also, failure to assign an amount to a pick will automatically be assumed to be a 100 point wager. If a contestant calls in more than 7 picks, each one after the 7th will be disregarded.
5) - When you submit your picks online, the same rules as above apply. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER to use the online feature, please see the Submit Your Picks page for more information. The rules listed on that page shall apply to all picks submtted online. If in doubt, please use the phone line. You are free to use either method.
6) - The Monopoly Regular Season will consist of the first 15 weeks of the NFL Season.
- THE TOP TEN TEAMS WILL THEN QUALIFY FOR THE MONOPOLY PLAYOFFS -
7) - The Monopoly Playoffs will then be the last 2 weeks (16 & 17) of the NFL Season and the first 2 weeks of the NFL Playoffs.
- For the first 2 weeks of the Monopoly Playoffs, contestants must still make a minimum 4 picks, with a maximum of 7 picks.
- For the last 2 weeks of the Monopoly Playoffs, contestants need only a minimum of 2 picks, with a maximum of 4 picks.
*** Please note: Saturday games CAN be used during the Monopoly Playoffs.
*** Please note: All picks during the Monopoly Playoffs MUST be a minimum of 500 points.
*** Please note: All picks during the Monopoly Playoffs MUST be phoned in by 11:00am, or submitted online by 12:00 Noon on SATURDAY.
